FFP mandatory requirements
“Complete” needs
something behind it.
Your client completed PAS. The certificate hasn’t arrived. Keep the request, the supporting document and the review together.
Parenting After Separation
Reported complete.
Certificate absent.
Alex’s email says the course is complete. The certificate is the next item to obtain and review.
Supporting document needed“I’ve done it”
is the start of the check.
The Court’s mandatory-requirements Notice addresses Parenting After Separation, a Family Court Counsellor meeting where applicable, financial disclosure and ADR. It identifies geographic scope and exceptions; a represented party’s position differs from that of a self-represented party. Check the current Notice and FFP Manual before assigning requirements.
The client’s email may be accurate, but it leaves the assistant searching for the certificate and counsel checking whether it supports the next step. A record of the request, receipt and review makes the next action clear without repeating the whole enquiry.
The Harbour matter
The right document
changes the next step.
Follow Alex’s report through receipt of the certificate and counsel’s review. The follow-up becomes a preparation task; the other requirements stay open.
Judgment remains yours. You stay in control.

Inspect the fictional counsel note
16 October: name and completion date checked against our matter information and applicable PAS requirement. Certificate accepted for preparation. Filing remains outstanding.
Preparation record excerpt
PAS completion evidence reviewed. Retain the certificate for the filing work. ADR support and the September disclosure request remain open.
Completion is reported. The supporting certificate remains absent.
Fictional demonstration. Nothing is sent, filed or scheduled. Resets when you reload.
When another reminder
will not resolve it.
If completion is not presently possible, bring the circumstances to counsel. Repeating a request may not be the useful next step. Waiver or deferral preparation needs its own record and decision.
Does a client report establish compliance?
It records what the client said. The supporting material and counsel’s assessment remain separate. For PAS, the Notice addresses both course completion and filing the certificate where applicable.
Does “reviewed” mean every requirement is complete?
No. Record the scope of review. Checking one certificate does not establish ADR compliance, sufficient disclosure or overall package readiness.
